Prince Godswil Umoh, Federal House Hopeful
The ’’Not Too Young to Run’’ bill that was recently passed and signed into law by President Mohammadu Buhari has started attracting positive responses across the country, as it has started witnessing young people aspiring for elective offices that would have before now been naturally reserved for older breed of politicians or the money bags.

Addressing party faithful, Hon. Barrister Michael Njah took time out to eulogized young Prince Godswil Umoh, whom he said has been a faithful party man and a visionary young man that is reliable and cool headed, whom if voted would represent the Ikot Ekpene Federal constituency effectively in every ramification. Barrister Njah, who said he has to jettison his ambition to seek election in the same office because of the zoning formula of the party, thanked God for how he has made APC, a party that people used to be afraid to identify with to now become the toast and darling of every politician in the state. He specifically revealed how he used to pray for the emergence of an equally strong political party that can challenge and give PDP a run for their money so that Nigerian can go forward, as she (PDP) was already becoming a party that was laden with so much impunity and a capitalist party. The Chapter Chairman of the party, Hon. Iyanam Akpan on his path appreciated Prince Umoh for keeping faith with the party and wished him well in his aspiration, promising that they as party leaders would do the needful when the time comes.
The Party Chairman who acknowledged the zoning policy of the party and the decision to zoned the Federal House ticket to the Amayam clan, the other and the only clan of the three clans that make Ikot Ekpene LGA that hasn’t yet produced a Federal House member, asked whether the people of Amayam are not part of Ikot Ekpene!  Making himself available for service, Prince Godswil Umoh pleaded for the support of the party leaders and well as the entire party members in Ikot Ekpene, promising that if given the party ticket, he would not disappoint. He specifically singled out the women and the youth as the constitutions that have been neglected that needed urgent intervention. Prince Umoh, who promised to operate an all inclusive programme if given the ticket and voted for at the poll, promised to leave any segment of the public behind. Prince Godswil Umoh called on the people to support the party and vote for the party in the coming general election. The young aspirant thanked Senator Godwil Obot Akpabio for the developmental vision he has for Akwa Ibom state and the Ikot Ekpene Federal Constituency, he also prayed that God would continue to guide the Senator and preserved him for the people of Ikot Ekpene Senatorial district and the Akwa Ibom.

Prince Godswil Umoh, a Philosopher and a relatively young businessman from Ikot Ekpene LGA of Akwa Ibom state is one of those young men that are taking advantage of the new bill that is intended to encourage young people to vie for elective offices, as he gathered the who is who of the Ikot Ekpene LGA All Progressive Congress, (APC) members at the party’s chapter secretariat, Aba Road, Ikot Ekpene and the entire eleven wards to consult the leaders of the party and to intimate them of his aspiration to run for the post of the House of Representative member representing the good people of Obot Akara, Esien Udim and Ikot Ekpene at the Federal House of Representative in the 2019 general election.
